No, the WhatsApp Business Platform charges businesses a per-conversation fee that varies according to the conversation category (utility, marketing, authentication, service). Only the service conversations are free.

Manage WhatsApp Business costs by using the 24-hour conversation window wisely, automating responses using chatbots, and targeting relevant customers only. Also, monitor your message volumes and optimize accordingly.

Starting November 1, 2024, WhatsApp made service conversations free of charge. In April 2025, utility templates will be free within the 24-hour conversation window and the pricing model will change from conversation-based to message-based.

Partnerships and solution providers

WhatsApp Business Solution Providers (BSPs)are companies authorized by WhatsApp to help businesses integrate and use WhatsApp Business API for communication. They provide technical infrastructure, tools, and services.

Use the WhatsApp Business Platform directly if your team has development skills to integrate and use the API. Work with an integration partner if you don’t have developers on your team.

Currently, developers can offer WhatsApp Business Platform access to their businesses only. To offer API access to others or become a partner, they’ll need to join this waitlist.

Technical and policy concerns

No, it’s not. Starting July 1, 2024, WhatsApp stopped registering business phone numbers for use with the on-premises API. Only registration with the Cloud API is accepted.

You can connect a phone number to your business account by following these steps:

Yes, you can verify your WhatsApp Business account on Meta by going to Settings > Meta Verified. Choose a subscription plan and pick the payment method, and you’re good to go.

  2. Click Add > Message to create the message
  3. Click Shortcut and set a keyboard shortcut for your quick reply
  4. Click Save
