On this page you learn how to link and unlink a device to your WhatsApp Business App account.

After you create an account on WhatsApp Business App, you can link up to four devices to it. Those four devices can only be PCs. Your phone does not have to be connected all the time for the other four devices to remain linked, but if you don’t use your phone for over 14 days, the devices will get unlinked automatically.

If you want to link more than four devices, you must subscribe to WhatsApp Business Premium.

If you have an android device, under the Chats, tap three dots Three dots. at the top right corner. For iOS devices, go to Settings. For Android devices select Linked devices.

Tap Link a device. If you have an iOS device, you need to unlock your phone first.

On the device you wish to link, open the browser and go to web.whatsapp.com or download the WhatsApp Desktop app for PC. You’ll see a QR code.

Scan the QR code with your phone. If the PC is in a different location, send a screenshot of the QR code to the person with the phone for scanning. After a few seconds, the PC gets connected.

On the phone, create a name for the linked PC, for example, Hannah’s PC. Press Save.

Your linked device will appear. You can link three more PCs by selecting Link a device.

If you switch to the WhatsApp Messenger app, your linked devices will get disconnected.

While in Chats tab, select the three dots Three dots. at the top right corner. Select Linked devices.

Select the device you want to unlink. In this case “Hannah’s PC”.

Unsupported Features

  • Using tablets for linked devices. Only PCs are allowed.
  • Viewing live location on linked devices.
  • Creating and viewing broadcast lists on linked devices.
